Pilsen & Little Village: A primerIn the 1950s, a growing community of Mexican immigrants leapfrogged from South Chicago into Pilsen on the Near Southwest Side. In the 1970s, the community spread just west and south into what is now called Little Village, or La Villita, and then into the suburb of Cicero.
